Frequently Asked Questions
How does a home visit work?
Our service is designed to reduce the stress associated with veterinary examinations, allowing your pet to be assessed in a familiar environment where they feel more relaxed, safe and comfortable. So during a home vet visit, the steps are exactly the same as when you take your pet to the vets, but less stressful.
What areas do you cover?
We serve Peterborough and surrounding areas for up to 30 miles. If you’re outside the core zone on the map, please message us and we’ll confirm availability.
What should I prepare before you arrive?
Please ensure your pet is in a secure and accessible area for the veterinarian.
If your pet is protective of children, toys or food, please inform us in advance to ensure a safe and comfortable visit.
Let us know of any access instructions (e.g., gated entry, parking restrictions).
If you have multiple pets, please keep others in a separate room to avoid distractions or stress for the pet being examined.
Provide any relevant medical records or information during the visit.
Please do not feed your pet at least one hour before or during the visit, treats are fine.
If your pet is usually nervous or reactive around strangers, please let the vet know in advance so they can adjust their approach.
Keep the environment as calm as possible by reducing loud noises and avoiding interruptions from visitors or other household members.
How do I book an appointment?
Please contact us via phone, WhatsApp, email, or the form on this page.
My pet is anxious about vets — can you help?
Absolutely, yes! We visit your pet in their own home, where they feel most at ease. Our calm, gentle approach helps reduce stress, and we’ll always work at your pet’s pace to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
We’re also happy to arrange a little extra support to help them settle before we arrive.
Do you offer emergency services?
We are not an emergency service, if you think your pet needs urgent medical care please contact your nearest veterinary practice immediately.
How are prices determined?
You can find a price list on the Home page of our website. We charge a call-out fee for each visit (not for each pet!), which reflects the distance our veterinary team travels from our base in Peterborough to provide care at your home. This fee is added to the total cost of treatments, medications and procedures your pet needs during the visit.
